Alexandra (Lexi) holds a Master of Clinical Psychology, is a Psychology Board of Australia Approved Supervisor, Certified Theraplay® Practitioner & Trainer, and Level 1 trained IFS Therapist. She has experience providing psychological interventions to both adults and children for:

- Complex Trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress
- Childhood attachment disruptions and developmental trauma
- Dissociation and Identity related distress
- Somatic Disorders
- Emotion regulation difficulties, depression and anxiety
- Life Transitions & Adjustment difficulties
- Complicated Grief and Loss
- Eating and body image related concerns
- Impulse control difficulties, ADHD, OCD, substance misuse​

Alexandra has extensive experience providing trauma-informed, attachment-based therapeutic intervention for those who have experienced early life relational trauma such as physical / sexual abuse, emotional neglect and domestic violence. She has special interest in the difficulties associated with attachment disorganisation and developmental trauma. She works closely with Foster children and their families, as well as those with Child Protection experiences of significant harm. Alexandra works long-term with clients, from a relational and experiential framework. She provides interventions that are rooted in Polyvagal Theory, Interpersonal Neurobiology, the Neuroscience of Attachment and Structural Dissociation Theory. She has undertaken extensive training in providing dyadic parent-child attachment therapy (Theraplay®) for children with attachment disruption, emotion dysregulation and complex trauma. Alexandra practices from an eclectic approach, integrating techniques drawn from a variety of therapeutic models including Ego-State therapies (Internal Family Systems, Schema Therapy), Body / Somatic based psychotherapy, cognitive restructuring and experiential therapies.

Alexandra believes that non-discrimination, autonomy, informed consent and free self-expression of identity are basic human rights, providing identity affirming psychological support for those who are LGBTQIA+, living with a disability. and/or culturally diverse.

Alexandra’s clinical experience comes from working in schools, non-profit, private and university settings. In addition to her clinical experience, Alexandra has conducted and published research on disordered eating and child sexual abuse and has presented her research Internationally.
